What do adults try to do when they pick a book for their kids to read?/ ¿Qué pretenden los “grandes” cuando eligen una lectura para los niños?

Ensuring a free effusion of creativity and fantasy from children's world? Or give them, in a conscious way, "hidden educators", capable tools to give them in between the lines behavioral guidance provided by the adults who have forgotten the mocking spirit and joy they might have known during their childhood? (Giani Rodari).
Benjamin is a deep thinker who ran away from the Nazis during the WWII. His book, Children's literature , is available online in Spanish and shows a critical analysis of children's books. He tries to answer the question about what adults want to "transmit" to the kids through literature. He also studies the evolution of toys and their role during childhood. There's lots to read and comprehend on his writing that might help us understand how we got where we are.
Enjoy!
